Laura K. Ferrell (February 17, 1920 – November 11, 2015)

Laura “Kay” Ferrell, 95, of Zanesville, died peacefully at 4:45 P.M. on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at her home. She was born February 17, 1920, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Isaac and Zella Wertz Bradford. She was a 1938 graduate of Adamsville High School and she retired after 20 years from the Muskingum County Courthouse where she worked in the Auditor’s office. Kay was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Trade & Spade Garden Club and the Republican Women’s Club.

She is survived by her son Jeff (Linda) Ferrell of Zanesville; a grandson Ben Ferrell of Zanesville; a granddaughter Carly (Breandan Wheeler) Dingey of Zanesville; four great grandchildren; a brother-in-law Billy J. Shirer of Zanesville; several nephews; and many special friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Ferrell who died in 1983; and two sisters, Eleanor Foster and Helen Shirer.

Friends and family may call from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday, November 13, 2015, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, and one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 14, 2015, with Rev. Mark A. Combs officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
