Carl Eugene Kaido 75 of Zanesville passed away on Sunday January 10, 2016 at Genesis Hospice, Morrison House. Carl was born in Corning, Ohio to the late John Walter and Velma Love Kaido. He graduated from Corning High School in 1957 and from Meredith Business College
He is survived by his wife; Carol West Painter Kaido, three sons; Mark (Karla Frye) Kaido of Zanesville, Mike Kaido, of Zanesville and Tim Painter of Zanesville and a daughter Kelly (Greg) Ashby of Zanesville, a brother Walter and a sister Janet. Carl also has seven grandchildren; Captain Tyler Kaido of Oklahoma City, OK, Claire Kaido of Brooklyn, NY, Wade Kaido of Greensboro, NC, Matthew Kaido of Washington ,DC, Andrew Ashby of Cincinnati, OH, Madison Ashby of Athens, OH and Benjamin Ashby of Zanesville, OH.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife; Connie Marie Kinnear Kaido who passed away on December 7, 1976.
He was retired as the Director of Maintenance at the John McIntire Public Library and was also a self-employed contractor. Carl was known for his quality workmanship and built many homes and churches in Muskingum County. He also worked for Longaberger Construction. Carl was very active in the South Zanesville community and a coach for South Zanesville Youth League. He was an avid area sports fan who supported all area athletes, especially his children and grandchildren. He took great pride in his children’s and grandchildren’s activities and achievements. Carl was a strong man of faith and took pride in his family’s heritage. Carl was a member of the Brighton Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder.
Calling hours will be from 2:00 PM until 4:00PM and from 6:00PM until 8:00 PM on Friday January 15, 2016 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 W. Military Road Zanesville, Ohio 43701, Memorial Services will be held on Saturday January 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Sue Ellen Skinner officiating.
