Christopher Brauning, DDS (November 6, 1958 – January 19, 2016)

Dr. Christopher B. Brauning, DDS, 57, of Dresden, passed away at 4:35 P.M. Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 6, 1958, in Zanesville, a son of Dr. Donald Richard, DDS and Suzanne Brown Brauning of Nashport. He was a 1977 graduate of West Muskingum, earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Physics at Hope College, earned his Dentistry Degree from Ohio State University, was owner and operator of Brauning Dental Associates, and was a member of the Barbershop Quartet, Kiwanis, and lifetime member of Immanuel Church of Downtown Zanesville.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sarah E. DeWeese Brauning, whom he married October 10, 1988; three children, Helen E. Brauning of Dresden, Samuel A. Brauning of Pittsburgh, PA, and Peter C. Brauning of Dresden; two sisters, Melanie (Dr. Ronald J.) Stas of Latrobe, PA and Marcye (Timothy C.) VanDyke of Holland, MI; a brother Darby Brauning of Hudsonville, MI; many nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law Clara DeWeese of Sidney, OH.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Lowell DeWeese.

Friends and family may call from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 22, 2016, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, and one hour prior to the funeral which will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at Immanuel Church of Downtown Zanesville, 105 S 7th Street, with Pastor Mitch Reed officiating. He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
