James R. “Jim” Brooks (April 28, 1943 – January 21, 2016)

ZANESVILLE
James R. “Jim†Brooks, 72 of Zanesville passed away Thursday January 21, 2016 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. He was born April 28, 1943 in Fayette County, PA a son of the late Jake and Nettie Hildabidel Brooks. He was retired after 33 years with the Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant in Lorain, OH. While living in Lorain Jim also worked at the Lorain Motor Speedway for 30 years. After retiring he and his wife moved to Zanesville and he worked for Muskingum County in delivering Meals on Wheels. Jim was a member of North Terrace Church of Christ; loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR. For many years he and his wife hosted many foreign exchange students in their home, many of whom they are still in contact with. Jim was always about everyone else and never about himself.
Jim is survived by his wife Helen Vincent Brooks; three sons James “Jim†Brooks Jr., Darrin Brooks and Marck St. Clair; exchange student Young Chae Cho; four sisters Janet Daniels, Gayle Ghrist, Maxine Mauk and Vicki Livingston; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and 77 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter Teresa Cogar and one sister Crystal Molnar.

Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 on Monday January 25, 2016 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday January 26, 2016 in the Snouffer Chapel with Chris Steele and Holly Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Heavens Gate Cemetery near Adamsville.
