Juanita Arter (April 11, 1929 – March 7, 2016)

Juanita M. Arter, 86 of Zanesville passed away on Monday March 7, 2016 at the Oaks at Bethesda.

Juanita was born in Corning, Ohio on April 11, 1929 to the late Raymond and Emma Goudy Ballis. She was formerly the office manager and secretary for Electric Motor Company. She was a member of Coburn United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star 485, and Junior Bethesda League.
She is survived by a son David (Sue) Arter of Westerville, a daughter Darla (Raphael) Martinez of Gainesville, Virginia, four grandchildren: Scott (Jeanne) Arter, Joel (Sarah) Arter, Mitchell Martinez, and Maria Martinez, two step grandchildren: Christopher Martinez and Laura Martinez, a brother in law Herb Clark, a sister in law Peggy Ballis, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years John “Jack” Arter who passed away on May 8, 2014, five brothers: James, Raymond, Alva, Jack, and Emmett Ballis, two sisters: Alouise Kyle and Barbara Clark.

Calling hours will be from 5-8pm on Thursday March 10 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Friday in the Snouffer Chapel with Rev. Doris Flynn officiating.
