Woman Admits to Attempted Arson

A 50-year-old Zanesville woman admitted to attempted arson Wednesday in court.

Sondra Caplinger pled guilty to one count of attempted aggravated arson in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court in front of Judge Kelly Cottrill.

Caplinger attempted to burn her own Linden Avenue home, after a divorce, in October 2008.

According to Assistant Prosecutor Bob Smith, they made no sentencing recommendation, but did ask for restitution. Judge Cottrill ordered a pre-sentence investigation.
