Saturday Basketball Roundup

Absence apparently does more than make the heart grow fonder. It makes the Zanesville Blue Devils better. After not playing at Winland Memorial Gymnasium for 25 days, the Blue Devils, in the third to last home game ever at Winland, score 60 points for the first time at home since December 18th, beating Piketon 66-54. Jordan Bouterse leading the way for the Blue Devils with 17 points, including a perfect five-for-five shooting from three point range, marking the second game in a row where Bouterse has eclipsed his previous careeer high in points at the varsity level. Tanner Gibson right behind Bouterse in scoring with 16 pts, while Cole Carpenter netted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Allen Harris also had 10, while Raheem Foreman contributed eight hard-fought points to the cause as well. Zanesville improves to 10-4 on the season, while Piketon, a Division III state semifinalist a year ago, falls to 11-5.
