Court Hearing For Cambridge Father

A 40-year-old Cambridge man charged with putting his 3-year-old son in a clothes dryer appeared for his arraignment Thursday. Cambridge Municipal Court officials say that Jamial Bayly did not enter a plea, but a preliminary hearing is now set for February 13th at 2 p.m. Judge John Nicholson continued Bayly’s bond at $30,000. Guernsey County Sheriff Michael McCauley says deputies went Sunday to 63097 Hickory Lane after getting a tip from family members. Deputies found the boy had been put in the dryer, which was then turned on. They did not see any visible injuries on the child. McCauley says he does not know how long the boy had been in the dryer. Bayly is also facing a felony domestic violence charge. He was also convicted in 1999 of domestic violence involving a 5-year-old family member.
