Osu Extension Discusses 2010; Hopes For 2011

The OSU Extension Agency met Thursday to discuss this recent year’s accomplishments as well as what 2011 will bring for Muskingum County.

Joined by two of the Muskingum County Commissioners, several others affiliated with the OSU Extension also attended the meeting. Among the projects discussed was the Real Money Real World Literacy activity for 8th and 9th graders.

"We had several of those activities last year that our 4H educator led to help young people understand a little bit more about handling money," said Mark Mechling, OSU Extension Educator.

Other highlights include the Master Gardeners and some of the volunteer activities they were involved with.

"They donated over 2,000 hours to the county in terms of horticultural education to the community," said Mechling.

Among the projects for 2011 are continuing to develop leadership, citizenship skills and helping area youth.
