At the start of the season, Rosecrans head coach Todd Rock said there would be at least a few blemishes on the Bishops record after 20 regular season games. It’s the same thing coach Rock has been saying for the past 18 years, and each time his prediction rang true. Even in the 1997 run to the state championship when Rosecrans went 26-2, there was a loss in the regular season. Tonight, for the first time in 18 years, Todd Rock’s prediction fell by the wayside as the Bishops defeated Tusky Central Catholic 69-51 to finish a with a perfect record of 20-0. Zak Kirkbride led RHS with a game-high 21 points, while Aaron Parry and Jake Phillis weren’t far behind with 18 points and 16 points respectively. If Rosecrans remains number one in D-IV when the AP rankings are released Monday, the school plans to hang a banner in Rogge gymnasium in honor of this historic season.
