David Gibbs Jr. Sentenced On Sex Charges

A Zanesville man already in prison is sentenced Monday on sex charges. In January, 43-year-old David Gibbs Jr. pleaded guilty to attempted sexual battery, rape and attempted gross sexual imposition. Today, Muskingum County Common Pleas Judge Kelly Cottrill sentenced Gibbs to 10 years to life to be served consecutively with a domestic violence conviction. He pleaded guilty last July to shooting his step-sister in the head. The Judge also ordered Gibbs classified as a Tier III sex offender and he must register with law enforcement every 90 days for the rest of his life.
