Riverside Barbershop Open for Business

If you’re driving down state route 60 south and are in need of a quick hair cut then you’re in luck.

After a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Riverside Barbershop opened for business. Owner Fred Welch said he enjoys the new location, but being a barber is nothing new.

"I had my own business in South Zanesville for 30 years, then I was employed up on Maple Avenue for 10 plus [years], and now I’m back down here," said Welch.

One of the first gentlemen served was Welch’s long-time friend, and loyal customar, George Pears. Welch said it was an honor, and couldn’t have worked out better for him.

"It feels great. George has been with me ever since I started, and I hope he’s here for when i end up. This is one of the big days in my life, probably one of the three top days of my life."

Welch said for all to stop by and walk-ins are welcomed: Tuesday-Friday, 9-5 and Saturday 9-2.
