Area Veteran Speaks to Others on Benefits

If you are a War Veteran, you may be eligible for a number of benefits you didn’t know about.

Years after a knee injury in Vietnam, Veteran Kenneth Burke may now need to under go a knee replacement, and thanks to the Department of Veterans Affairs he likely won’t have to pay for it. Along with earning his engineering degree, and a number of other benefits, Burke said many of life’s expenses have been no cost to him.

"Glasses, I go every year and I just went this past week for my eye exam," said Burke. "You get a new pair of glasses every year the VA offers them things too you."

Saturday Burke spoke at the Nelson T. Gant Foundation in Zanesville, sharing his experiences and explaining to other area Veterans how they can benefit from the VA.

"The benefits are there, if I know someone who is unaware I just want to share what I know," expressed Burke.
