Man Sentenced In Pizza Robbery

A Dresden man pleads guilty in connection with the armed robbery of a pizza delivery man. Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says 31-year-old Shane Powell tried to rob a Papa John’s employee on the East Pike in December of 2011. The Papa John’s employee was able to fight off Powell and take his gun. Lutz says Powell fled and was later arrested after he crashed his vehicle. Powell pled guilty to aggravated robbery, having a weapon while under disability and failure to comply. Muskingum County Common Pleas Judge Mark Fleegle sentenced Powell to seven and a half years in prison, ordered him to make restitution and suspended his driver’s license for three years.
