Zanesville City Schools Hall Of Fame Class 2012

The Zanesville City Schools Hall of Fame Committee announced its class of 2012 today. They are Karen Dyser – 32 year employee ending as director of instruction…Pearl “Zane” Grey – famed writer of western novels…John Matesich of Matesich Distributing…James McCandlish – longtime teacher…Brigadier General Michael McHenry –served in the United States Military for 37 years…Melvin “Sy” Oliver – singer and band leader…David Schubach –composer and arranger…Dr. William Stewart – President of Stewart Glapat …Ty Tucker – professional tennis player…and the 1955 Boys Basketball Class A State Championship Team. This is the 5th class to be inducted to the Hall of Fame. It was created in 2007 to recognize the men and women who have displayed outstanding ability in academics, athletics and other activities. A ceremony is planned for May 12th at Zanesville High School.
