North End Burglary Suspect In Jail

Zanesville Police say an area man is behind bars and facing charges after a recent string of burglaries on the north end of the city earlier this month.
32-year-old Cameron Roth was indicted by a Muskingum County Grand Jury on Wednesday and faces one Misdemeanor Theft charge along with 5 Felony charges including 3 counts of Burglary, one count of Theft, and one count of Theft from an Elderly Victim.
Detective Sergeant Ric Roush said the burglaries happened within an 11-day period.
"The burglaries occurred during the daytime and after an initial investigation it was determined that Cameron Roth was responsible for these burglaries," said Roush.
Roush said the string of crimes occurred between February 29th and March 10th on Yale, St. Louis and Adair Avenues.
Roush said Roth’s actions during the break-ins helped lead authorities to him.
"These burglaries were somewhat similar in, not only the fact that they happened in the daytime hours, but the means of entry into these houses was very similar," added Roush.
Roth is in the Muskingum County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
He will be arraigned in Common Pleas Court on Wednesday.
