Sheriff Searches For Check Forgery Suspect
Guernsey County Sheriff Mike McCauley says the search is on for one of two forgery and theft suspects. The Sheriff says between February 10th and 13th two males entered Peoples Bank branches in Guernsey, Muskingum and Noble Counties and in Point Pleasant West Virginia. Sheriff McCauley says the suspects cashed forged Guernsey County Treasurer checks. A total of seven checks were fraudulently made and cashed totaling over 10-thousand dollars. The Sheriff says bad checks contained the actually account and routing numbers to the Guernsey County Treasurers account. They were made payable to “Kenneth D. McDaniel II and or “Renfro J. Wade”.
