UPDATE: Power Outages due to Wind
The strong winds blowing through Zanesville and the rest of Ohio are causing a lot of outages. Here in Muskingum County just over 800 customers are without service Friday afternoon…in Guernsey County it’s just over 300 customers. There were also some businesses that closed friday due to a lack of power…Help Me Grow, The Bureau For Children with Medical Handicaps and Muskingum County WIC.
A-E-P says the wind caused a power pole to break outside a substation.
A-E-P spokeswoman Carmin Prati says most customers in Muskingum County should have service restored by 4:00 or 5:00 p.m. Some customers in other counties it will be later Friday night. At its peak 13-thousand A-E-P customers were without service across Ohio.
