Community Supports Boy with Rare Cancer

A candle light vigil took place at Maysville High School on Sunday for a young man battling a life threatening disease.
Jared Hesel, has battled with Ewing Sarcoma Cancer since 2010 and this is his third bout with the aggressive and rare disease. Family, friends, and church members gathered in the parking lot of the high school to pray the cancer away and give support to the Hesel family.
His step mother, Amy Hesel notes that Saturday was Jared’s 13th birthday and receiving all of this support was overwhelming and touching. She says that Jared is in good spirits, but remains very tired from the traveling to and from the Children’s Hospital in Columbus.
If you would like to donate to Jared’s family or write an encouraging word, you can visit his page online at Join Jared’s Journey on Facebook.
