Holiday Parade in South Zanesville

For more than 25 years the South Zanesville Business Association Parade has provided the local community with a spectacular holiday display.
This year the parade’s theme was "It’s a Hollywood Christmas" and took several months to execute.
"We start the planning process of this in April and we are looking at about 7 months of work from picking a theme, to getting the street shut down, to getting law enforcement involved, to getting marketing out there, " said South Zanesville Business Association President, Scott Haren.
Hundreds of visitors of all ages gathered on Maysville Pike to see all of the floats in the 2013 line-up which included Santa, the Maysville High School Band and even bumper cars. Haren says that continuing the parade is a proud tradition that he holds close to his heart.
" I remember coming to this parade when I was a kid, said Haren." I grew up in South Zanesville and it’s just something we really feel strongly about and to be able to give back to the kids of this generation, to have a good time and see Santa Claus and get candy and all that kind of fun stuff. "
Haren would like to thank the dedicated committee who helped make the event possible and all the people who sat in the blistering cold to watch the parade.
