Vacant House Fire Update

Zanesville fire and police departments responded to a house fire late Friday morning.

A vacant house caught fire at 1139 Putnam Avenue shortly after 11 a.m. According to Zanesville’s Deputy Fire Chief, Eric Waltemire, the cause of the fire is still under investigation but there is some suspicion since it is a vacant house. The fire was contained in the back of the house and officials were able to put it out within 20 minutes. We will have more information on this story as it becomes available to us.
