Lights Out, But Council’s On

Lights Out, But Council's On

Whether rain or snow, sleet or black outs, council must go on.

High winds Monday afternoon knocked out power in a portion of Muskingum County during the day. As of about 8PM, 626 AEP customers in Muskingum County were without any form of electric. City Hall was among the buildings effected by the lack of brightness. Flashlights were the light source of choice by Council Members as they proceeded with the meeting. Some of the ordinances discussed were $80,000 of funds for the Southeast Area Transit, the authorization of bids and a 5 year lease for farming land at the Zanesville Municipal Airport. Both second readings were approved. An ordinance providing temporary appropriations for use during the fiscal year of 2015, was also discussed and was passed as emergency. Council wrapped up just before 7:30PM this evening.
