Scholarship Central To Offer College Night

Scholarship Central To Offer College Night

If you’ve been considering college, but find yourself overwhelmed by the process, Zane State and Scholarship Central have you covered.

The event will be held Thursday March 12th from 6PM to 8:30PM in the Zane State Campus Center. We spoke to Ohio College Guide for Scholarship Central, Emily Crist, who walked us through the informative evening.

“First of all they’ll get signed in and they’ll go to their presentations. When they register they’ll get to pick which presentations they want to go to…..a wide range of college admissions representatives there to talk about the college campus life.”

Crist says no one is too young to start thinking about college. Presentations will be offered for children from 7th grade all the way to Senior Year of High School, and the event is completely free to those who attend. Crist says the event is important because it informs people about financial aid and scholarships. If you are unsure of what route to take once you get there, crist shared some advice to help.

“I do see a lot of students that are unprepared. They dont really know what the best option is for them. A lot of them dont know what they want to be and I encourage students just to start thinking about it. Think of their interests. What interests you that you could go into a similar field, you know, that hopefully those interests allign.”

Students who attend will be entered into a drawing for scholarships at the end of the night. Crist estimates that 200 to 300 people attend this event each year. You can pre-register online until February 28th at the website: www.mccf.org
