Chandlersville Rd. Woods Fire

Some members of the Wayne Township Fire Department had to fight a fire in the woods Tuesday. It happened at 3550 Chandlersville Road just before 1:00 pm. What made this fire more difficult to fight than most was the location which fire fighters could not reach with hoses…so they filled bags with water, tied them to their backs and walked into the woods to fight the fire. Investigators say some downed power lines are likely the cause. This time of year quickly spreading fire is a problem. In fact Perry and Morgan Counties are under a Red Flag Warning until 8 p.m. meaning conditions of low humidity and high wind make the spread of fire likely.
