Local Woman Celebrates 103rd Birthday at the Oaks

ZANESVILLE, Ohio–A Zanesville woman celebrated a major milestone this week at the Oaks Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Zanesville.

Barbara “Jean” Friesinger turned 103 on Thursday.

The Oaks threw her a birthday party the day before, with guests including Sheriff Matt Lutz, Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office deputies, and representatives of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

In addition, Jean received a letter from the Zanesville City Mayor congratulating her on this special birthday.

Having grown up in Zanesville, where she graduated from Zanesville High School, she was married to husband Bob for more than 60 years and had three children, plus eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.

She has lived at The Oaks since December 2021.
