A Celebration of Diversity

Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Dream is continuing at Zane State College.

Zane State College’s Ethnic Food Fair featured four different types of food that the culinary students prepared.  The food fair is just one part of the college’s celebration that honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Alumni Sheryl Debolt says she came out today for a good cause.

"We came out to be diversified. To enjoy the different foods and to meet different people from different ethnic backgrounds. It’s very important that we support our community," said Debolt.

The fair featured Italian, Soul, Mexican, and Thai food; a menu that was chosen by the culinary students back in November.  Zane State Head Culinary Chef Marco Adornetto says food is the perfect way to bring the community together.

"People love to talk about food, they love cookbooks, they love the Food Network. It’s like the weather, everybody is always talking about food or everybody is always talking about the weather, so it’s a great way that people come together; different cultures, different cuisines, they all kind of intermix," said Adornetto.

This is the 19th year for the ethnic food fair.
