A Christ’s Table Christmas

ZANESVILLE, OH – Everyone at Christ’s Table is filled with holiday spirit as they prepare for one of the busiest times of the year.
Christmas, a time often dedicated to giving back and providing a sense of community to those who may need it.
Christ’s Table Executive Director Keely Warden shared some words of encouragement. “Today is Christmas Eve! We’re preparing a wonderful lunch for tomorrow, which will consist of ham and yams. The volunteers are currently candying the yams as we speak. Our hope is to make Christmas Day a little brighter for people. While we cannot change their past or predict their future, we aim to bring some warmth to their hearts on Christmas. To help them live in the moment and share the Christmas spirit that others may experience at home.”
The typical Christ’s Table volunteers are given the day off if they choose, thanks to the support of other community volunteers, including The Down Bikers. Doors will open as early as 6:30 a.m. on Christmas morning, with lunch starting at 11 a.m.
“We will be here tomorrow, Christmas Day, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Our doors open around 6:30 in the morning, so you can come in, enjoy a cup of coffee, and have a donut. Then at 11 a.m., we will serve our wonderful lunch. I want to encourage everyone in the community: please don’t spend Christmas Day alone,” Warden added. “The unique thing about Christ’s Table is that anyone who walks through our doors is considered a friend. We treat everyone the same, regardless of whether it’s their first visit or they’ve been here before. There will be someone here to welcome you and show you what we’re all about.”
Warden would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has worked hard to make this possible. She would also like to extend a special thanks to Park National Bank for crafting stockings. Additionally, she wishes to acknowledge the Zanesville Community School students who made ornaments. These ornaments will be distributed while delivering to those who are homebound.
