“A Day at Eastside”

Eastside

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Eastside Community Ministry’s annual play opens Friday.

Executive Director Jamie Trout said this will be their third year putting on the play at Renner Theater. She said they started the play to give people an inside view as to what a day at Eastside is like.

“Well because people are always asking us what we do at Eastside and because we have so many programs it’s really hard to put in words, so we thought we’d show them,” said Trout.

Trout said the cast for the show is made up of kids from their youth program, volunteers, and board members. She said the kids are especially excited to be in the play.

“Well, this year we’re really excited because the youth from our youth program are very involved,” said Trout. “Some of them have wrote their own testimonies to share during the play, we have some artwork, and we have a really exciting end to the play this year.”

Trout said tickets for the show are $10 and that half of the money raised will go to the Renner Theater and the other half will go toward programs at Eastside Ministries. Shows are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30.
