OBIT FOR: A. ELIZABETH “BETTY†(ROWLAND) BROWN STEWART , 97
A. Elizabeth “Betty” (Rowland) Brown Stewart, 97 longtime resident of Brownsville and currently of Clay House died at 4:36am Monday, July 22 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.
She was born September 14, 1915 in Morgan County, Ohio the daughter of Elvin E. Rowland and Rosa (Koska) Rowland.
Betty was a graduate of Meigs High School in 1933 where she was a member of the basketball team. She was a homemaker, member of the Brownsville United Methodist Church, one of the founders of the Brownsville Senior Citizens Club, and owned the Country Store in Brownsville for many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Rosemary (Ronnie) Clippinger of Thornville, a son Ken (Sally) Brown of Zanesville; 2 step-sons Carl (Ethel) Stewart of Fredericksburg, PA and Charles (Pam) Stewart of Coolville; 7 grandchildren & 14 great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by in addition to her parents, by her first husband Jesse Lee Brown, her husband Walter M. Stewart, a sister Mary Frances Anderson & a brother George William Rowland.
Friends may call 4 to 8pm on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the Bryan & Snider Funeral Home where services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 25 with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Burial will conclude at the Poplar Fork Cemetery, Gratiot, Ohio.
