Today family friends and some rescue crews gathered at the Muskingum County Court House to honor the 12 year old.

"We wanted to recognize his bravery and heroism with some of the people that were involved with him that day so we just wanting to make sure that Shae and his family knew we appreciate his bravery and are proud that he is a citizen of Muskingum County," County Commissioner Brian Hill said.

Brian Hill and the rest of the County Commissioners recognized Shae with an award for his bravery.
