A Local College Experiences a Zombie Outbreak
A local college is infected, and they need local scientist’s to help control the outbreak.
At least that is what officials at Zane State College are saying today the college hosted a zombie outbreak. Which was a free and fun opportunity for local high school students and zombie enthusiasts to learn new skills in different scientific fields and use the knowledge they gained to stop the outbreak.
“We have a full blown out zombie outbreak here. The students started to notice some violence, some wounds and some bite wounds. As you can see on some of the patients that are here it’s quite serious,” said Heather Shepherd.
During this program, the students were placed into five different roles decontamination, triage, field forensics, lab diagnostics and some played the victim these roles were assigned to try to find a way to contain the outbreak. Shepherd said this is their way to engage students in a fun but educational way.
I didn’t realize that how I was going to run from building to building because there’s literally zombies everywhere. We’re crawling everywhere. That just makes it fun, anytime you can make learning fun and you can apply the science, you can’t ask for anything better,” said Shepherd.
Shepherd said this is the first time having this event and they plan to make it a tradition.
