A Successful Fall Fest At Nashport Elementary

Scottie pride filled Nashport Elementary Saturday, and not because of the school’s big win Friday night.

From noon to 5:00 p.m. a couple hundred parents and students made their way to the school for the school’s annual fall festival. As people walked in the front door the smell of sweets and popcorn filled the air and the kids could enjoy hay rides, raffles, and even arts and crafts projects. PTO President Teresa Bell was thrilled with the festivals outcome.

"It’s been very touching to see especially when we’re having the economic struggles that we’re having today that they’re still generous enough to sort of forget some of the problems that they may be incurring and just help us out," Bell said. "It’s very heartwarming."

All food and items raffeled off were donated to the school by various companies and community members. This allowed all of the money raised to go to the projects the school needs to undertake.

"Everything that we are going to be able to earn today is going to be just straight for whatever projects the PTO board chooses to use that money for," Bell said.

Bell added that fall fest helped the school raise close to $10,000 last year.
