A View from Above
One pilot says the perfect view to see the leaves change, is from above.
The Y-City Flying Service at Parr Airport is giving locals the opportunity to see Zanesville in a different light.
"For the most part it’s to get the people out and the soil conservation folks sponsor this and they like to get the farmers out to see the crops," said Flight Instructor Robert Norman.
The 30 minute flight costs $25.00 per person for a three-seater plane or $30.00 for a five-seater plane. The staff schedules appointments regularly. Norman says people are generally surprised. by the scenary.
"A lot of people don’t realize how much tree foliage we actually have, not necessarily leaves but just how many trees are around, they don’t realize that there’s a lot of trees left in this part of the country," he said.
Norman often receives requests to fly over people’s homes and to also see the spirited Ohio script cornmaze at McDonald’s Greenhouse.
