Upcoming Zanesville Projects In 2026

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – 2025 has been a year of accomplishments for the City of Zanesville and Mayor Don Mason talked about the direction the city will be taking in 2026.

Many of the city’s 2026 ventures are lengthier projects that are already underway and demonstrate a significant investment that is being put into the future of the community.

“We have five to seven subdivisions that started development in 2025 and are going to be finishing or actually be in major development mode in 2026,” Mason said. “For example at Kensington Village off of Northpointe, they’re right now adding on to their existing facilities with that same developer is building two more housing developments to the north and to the west of Kellogg’s. Again we’ve had other housing developers looking at Military near Northpointe.”

As future housing and transportation will continue to play a key role in the city’s priorities, so does recreation and living in the moment.

“In 2025, the city took over total operations of the Lorena,” Mason said. “Again we had a great outdoor concert series. It started in 2021, pulled through 2025 and we’re putting together 2026. As far as projects I see us doing in 2026, again partnering with the Land Bank, who I’d mentioned, to help remove that portion of Gant Football Stadium, where the old stadium was, so we can put in new restrooms and small locker rooms.”

Municipal Park development will continue with efforts being made at Putnam Landing Park to develop boating access to the Muskingum River below the Y-bridge. Mason detailed several more projects slated for 2026 that share the common goal of making Zanesville a more desirable place to live.
