AAA Gives Free Vehicle Inspections

AAA and other representatives were out at Zane State College giving free vehicle inspections Tuesday.

The event took place from 11AM to 2PM and was part of Zane States Safety Week. We spoke to Kimberly Schwind, Senior Public Relations Manager for AAA told us the winter has been rough on cars across the state, and spring is the time to get necessary maintenance taken care of. Scwind shared things to watch for when out on the road.

“Especially this time of year, we have lots of potholes out, so if you go over potholes you’ll start to notice maybe some vibrations in your car, your car’s pulling to one side or the other. Those can all be issues with the steering or the suspension or alignment. So things like that, if you notice those, you might want to bring it in.”

You are also encouraged to check your tire pressure. Professionals were there giving out free tire gauges and showed drivers how to do it themselves. Schwind says these are great events to hold for any and all people.

“This is a great event to hold in the spring, again because we’ve just gotten over the harsh winter, there’s a lot of issues that we see with cars, minor issues that can be prevented and that’s what we’re here today to do.”

Last year, 50 cars were inspected and 82% of them had at least one fault. If you missed today, you are encouraged to contact any AAA approved repair shop.
