ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Abbot Senior Living has welcomed a new furry resident.

With the $500 grant from Sam’s Club that the facility received, they adopted a 10 week old Maine Coon from the Animal Shelter Society. Executive Director Kevin Pinson said his name is Buddy and he has already stolen everybody’s hearts.

“He’s great. The residents love him. He’s very cuddly and we just have a great time with him,” Pinson said. “A lot of folks when they moved in say they miss having a pet. They had one when they lived in their own home so we thought this would be a great substitute.”

Buddy has his own office in the facility but he likes to spend his time out in the common area. Pinson said he has a full run of the place minus the kitchen, he will even visit residents in their rooms.

“Just the companionship. I know he spends time with me in my office and I really enjoy having him in the work day. The residents, he’s just great entertainment and they just really love him,” Pinson said.

If you find yourself visiting the Abbot Senior Living, be sure to stop by and give Buddy some love and attention.
