Academy Sports + Outdoors Opening its Doors in Zanesville

ZANESVILLE, OH – Academy Sports + Outdoors, a full-line sporting goods and outdoor recreation, is gearing up to open its doors in Zanesville.

The new store, located in the Northpointe Center at 3925 Gorsky Drive , is set to welcome the public on Monday, May 20th.

Academy Sports + Outdoors offers a wide range of products, specializing in outdoor gear, sports equipment, apparel, and footwear. This opening is not just good news for sports and outdoor enthusiasts but also for the local job market, as it brings approximately 60 new jobs to the area.

“Academy is really focused on offering a great value. We also really want all the families that are active minded to have fun. Whether you’re a toddler, you’re in high school, or you’re a parent, everyone can come in and find something that’s for them,” Senior Public Relations Specialist Grace Carter said.

As part of their commitment to community engagement, Academy will be making a donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville on Thursday, May 30th. The celebration continues with grand opening festivities from Friday, May 31st to Sunday, June 2nd.

“For our grand opening, we’ll have tons of festivities starting Thursday night with a give back. We’ll be hosting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville where we’ll be donating $5,000 to that organization just to say hello to the community and that we’re happy to be here and thank you for having us. Then on Friday, we’ll have our ribbon cutting, a DJ to enter everyone in, and a bunch of fun deals and steals throughout the weekend like gift card giveaways, a treasure hunt, and all that good stuff,” Carter said.
