Adopt a Dog Day

The Muskingum County Dog Pound is inviting the community out to find loving homes for dogs.

The pound is holding their first ever adoption event, which has a lot to offer to members of the community, as well as the furry friends looking for homes.

"We’re going to have all kinds of wonderful dogs up for adoption. We’re going to have food available, and hot dogs, and pop, and chips and cookies, and we’re going to have a bake sale," says volunteer, Jenny Durant.

Gift packages will be given out as incentives to adopt a pet. Durant says that their goal is to alter the pound’s image.

"Change the way the community views the pound and to raise awareness that the dogs up here at the pound are available for adoption," says Durant.

The adoption day will be on Saturday, August 21 from 11 a.m.  to 1 p.m.
