Adoptions Made Through the Animal Shelter Society’s Meet and Greet House

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Animal Shelter Society is celebrating some heartwarming success stories this week.
The Moyer Group Wealth Management of Raymond James recently gifted the shelter a “Meet and Greet Playhouse,” created during Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio’s annual playhouse event last month. Since the playhouse was unveiled, five pets have been adopted right from inside it. The Moyer Group says supporting the shelter’s mission to help animals find loving homes is something close to their hearts.
“Seeing the work that April and the entire staff does while caring for all of the animals is truly amazing. A lot of people don’t understand or can’t truly fathom the things they see on a daily basis. It really makes a big difference to us and to the Moyer group to support the mission and we truly know that they are making a difference in our community, and we can get behind a mission like that.” Shelter Board Member/ Moyer Group Financial Advisor, Beau Moyer said.
Next Tuesday, in honor of Veterans Day, the shelter will host a free microchip event for retired and active-duty military members from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., sponsored by Park National Bank. Microchips play an important role in reuniting lost pets with their families.
“We are opening up just for the veterans and military. You can bring in a dog or a cat. You don’t need to make an appointment; we just ask that the cats come in carriers and the dogs be on leashes. To be safe, don’t bring them in our building, we’ll come out to you. Microchips are the fastest way to get an animal back to somebody.” Animal Shelter Society Executive Director, April Gibson said.
