Albert “Bert” Kinsey

Albert “Bert” Allen Kinsey, 90, of Frazeysburg, Ohio passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at his home with his wife by his side.
Born July 9, 1935, in Zanesville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Cline W. and Hazel E. (Moore) Kinsey and a 1953 graduate of Lash High School. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Education, and a Minor in Music, from Ohio University in 1962 and his Master of Religious Education from Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary in 1973. Bert started his teaching career in 1956, as a 6th grade teacher at Frazeysburg Elementary and spent the rest of his life on one side of the desk or the other. He was always learning or teaching others.
Bert was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Dresden, Ohio and a missionary. Bert taught God’s word, in Australia, Michigan, West Virginia, and all throughout Ohio. Bert was also a pastor in each of those locations. Bert enjoyed all aspects of teaching, both spiritually and educationally.
Surviving is his devoted wife, Jean Ione (McKee) Kinsey whom he married December 22, 1962; three sons, Vance (Kip) Kinsey of Chesapeake, Virginia, Vernon (Jennifer) Kinsey of Seminole, Florida, and Von (Carol) Kinsey of Frazeysburg; seven grandchildren, Ryan Kinsey, Seth Kinsey, Jennifer (Drew) Brewer, McKayla (Ben) Hill, Jameson (Bailey) Kinsey, Autumn (Ethan) Blanton, and Breanna Kinsey; seven great grandchildren and a special friend, Glenn Romans.
Bert is preceded in death by his daughter, Valerie Jean Kinsey who died September 14, 2023.
A celebration of Bert’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, July 6, 2026, at the First Baptist Church – Dresden, 801 Chestnut Street, Dresden, OH 43821.
