Alison Jean Gaiters, 54, of Columbus, Ohio, ended her courageous battle with cirrhosis of the liver on Friday, July 5, 2024. Alison was born June 29, 1970 in Zanesville, daughter of Ellen J. (Sweeny) and the late Harvey M. Kaufman. In addition to her father, Alison is also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Amy Gaiters.

Alison leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Robbie Gaiters; beloved children, Grace and Marcus Gaiters; mother, Ellen Kaufman; siblings, Brian (Lisa) Kaufman, Mark Kaufman and Eric Kaufman; mother-in-law, Becky (Mike) Brown; sister-in-law, Elaina (Trevor) Campbell; brother-in-law, Matthew (Kayla) Brown; many nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many, many friends.

Alison was a wonderful, loving mother and wife. Her children and husband were the center of her world. She was also a devoted daughter and sister. Alison was a loyal friend and a beacon of kindness. She was truly a beautiful soul.

In her free time, Alison loved sitting on her front porch. She also enjoyed staying connected with friends on social media. Alison was a former Zanesville Devilette and she made the effort to keep in contact with her former teammates. In the past, Alison ran ‘Faithfully Your’s’ in-home daycare where she loved the many children she nurtured. Alison was very active in the homeless outreach program of St. John’s Holy Rosary Pantry. She was an amazing woman who will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.

Per the family’s wishes, cremation has been chosen. A memorial visitation will be held Friday, July 12, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., with memorial service to follow at 1 p.m., at the Greater Apostolic Church of Christ, 1651 State St., in Zanesville. Elder Terrence Brown officiating. A repass meal in Alison’s honor will follow services. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
