An impaired driver strikes a school bus in Perry County

LANCASTER, Ohio – A Crooksville Village School bus was rear-ended on Wednesday while the bus was stopped and students were being dropped off. According to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, all 9 students and the bus driver were uninjured after a 2003 Honda Pilot driven by Misty Porter struck the stopped school bus.

Porter was arrested at the scene of the accident for operating the vehicle under the influence. She is currently being held at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail and the crash is still under investigation at the time of reporting.

The accident occurred at 3:58 p.m. on Ceramic Road near State Route 669. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, Crooksville Fire and EMS, and Frank’s Towing.
