Animal fun at Duncan Falls/Philo Branch Library

DUNCAN FALLS, OH- Animal Ambassadors from the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium made a stop at the Duncan Falls/Philo Branch Library.
The Habitat Heroes program offers all ages of the community a chance to get an up-close look at animals from different zoo habitats and learn what each of them have to offer.
“We’re very excited, the past couple of Januarys we have been able to get some extra programming out to our branch locations, it’s something fun for families to come and get out and do during the colder months, this year we were lucky to partner with the Columbus Zoo and Wilds, and our Adventure with Animals program,” said Joshua McPeek, the Branch Services Coordinator.
The Animal Ambassadors present during the program were a sloth, an armadillo, a snake, an owl, a tortoise and even a penguin. The program focused on conservation, sustainability, the best practices in animal care, and what they consider to be the most important, which is the value of the connection between people and animals.
“It’s just very important for us to get to bring these bigger programs from Columbus out to our smaller communities throughout Muskingum County, we’ve been doing this in Zanesville of course, but New Concord, Roseville, South Zanesville, Dresden and here, Duncan Falls,” said McPeek.
