Animal Shelter Society Pet of the Week: Meet Gordon!

ZANESVILLE, OH – This Week’s Pet of the Week is a young pup who’s looking to explore.
Meet Gordon! He’s a 2-month-old terrier mix who’s neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and is searching for his forever family.
April Gibson, the Executive Director of the Animal Shelter Society, says Gordon was brought to them by a good Samaritan who found the young pup on I-70 near Cambridge.
“He loves his swimming pools, he didn’t have a problem in the vehicle, he’s just a sweet pup.” Gibson said. “Interesting and some of the things we do deal with at the Shelter, is we receive animals in. He was actually found on Interstate 70 heading into Cambridge into Guernsey County and a concerned citizen out of West Virginia brought him into us and he had a little bit of road rash on him and he has healed beautifully.”
At any given time, there are about 100 animals at the Shelter that need food, medicine, or treatments; Gibson says that’s why they do so many fundraisers, to help care for the animals like Gordon.
That’s why she’s teaming up with Angela Bailey, the owner of Taste of Ohio Wine, Bourbon, & Beer, for Bark, Bourbon, and Leaf happening on Thursday, September 17th.
“We’re so proud to be able to partner with this non-profit, specifically.” Bailey said. “We believe in the mission, we truly appreciate everything April does for the community and the animals so, it’s really special for us that she chose us to be able to partner and help her facilitate this.”
Tickets for Bark, Bourbon, and Leaf are $35 and can be purchased at the Shelter.
