Animal Shelter Society Seeks Terrier’s Owner While a Local Business Supports Their Mission

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Animal Shelter Society needs your help finding a terrier’s owner, and a local business is stepping in to make a difference this holiday season.

A four-month-old male terrier mix was recently brought into the Animal Shelter Society. Staff say it’s clear this pup had a home, and they’re hoping to reunite it with its owner. If this is your dog, or you know who it belongs to, please contact the shelter. Microchipping your pets can make all the difference when it comes to reuniting lost animals with their families, and the shelter offers microchipping services to help prevent situations like this from happening.

“He’s not up for adoption right now. That’s not our point. The point is to try to find his legal owner. Someone has to be looking for this animal. Just give us a call and ask for me directly. My extension line is 107. We’ve done our due diligence to get this dog back to its rightful owner,” Executive Director at the Animal Shelter Society April Gibson said. “If this animal would have been microchipped, that’s $25 here at our non-profit, then this animal would’ve been home within just hours. Please microchip. That’s a service here, it’s very simple, it takes longer to fill out the paperwork than it does the actual procedure.”

Meanwhile, Dierkes Auto Detail LLC is donating a bag of dog food to the Animal Shelter Society for every gift certificate purchased through December. To buy a certificate, you can call Dierkes Auto Detail at (740) 624-3104 or message them on Facebook. Every purchase helps feed the animals at the shelter this holiday season.

“It feels great. It feels like I’m doing something good in the world and making a difference. Making a difference and doing something right,” Owner of Dierkes Auto Detail, Joe Dierkes said.

Support like this helps the Animal Shelter Society continue their mission of caring for and rehoming animals in need.
