Animal Shelter’s Brave Pup Oscar in Recovery
A few weeks ago, we introduced you to Oscar, the Animal Shelter’s newest fury friend in need.
Oscar, also known as Rascal, recently suffered a broken leg, after being a hit by a car in Duncan Falls. Fortunately, The Animal Shelter was able to locate Oscar, and rescued the four-year-old boxer mix a few weeks ago. With the community’s help, the brave pup was able to receive the surgery he needed to fix his severed limb.
“He’s had his surgery, did wonderful with his surgery, has already started having his therapy, and actually was giving kisses the tech that was working with him this morning, I know there are a lot of people out there who wanted to know how he was doing, he’s doing great,” said Executive Director, Jody Murray.
Although Oscar’s in recovery, Murray said he’s not quite ready for adoption, but the Animal Shelter will continue to give updates on his progress.
If you’re looking to get a head start on your holiday shopping, the Animal Shelter’s annual “Craft Show and Bazaar” is Saturday, featuring one-of-kind, hand-made gifts from local vendors.
“We’ll be down at the Mass Bingo Hall on W. Main Street, doors open at 9:00, we’re going to have a lot of vendors there, we’re somewhere between 15 and 20, so a good time to come and sample some baked goods,” Murray said.
Also, in honor of Veteran’s Day, the Animal Shelter will be having a special for our local vets. On November 11, any veteran who wants to adopt a pet will get 50 percent off.
