Animal Shelter’s Pet of the Week
The Animal Shelter is featuring a unique pet this week who is looking for a new place to call home.
There’s more than just dogs and cats at the Animal Shelter. Ticky is a 3-year-old domestic ferret, with a beautiful dark masked sable coat. The slinky and slender critter is friendly and feisty, but Executive Director, Jody Murray, said she would make for the perfect pet.
“You can keep them in a cage and not have to worry about being home at certain times, where with cats and dogs, you have take them in and out, and they’re small and fun to play with,” Murray said.
Ticky’s adoption fee is only $100 and Murray said her supplies are available at local retailers. Murray also wanted to send a reminder to stop by the Animal Shelter’s upcoming Open House on December 5.
“We’ll have some vendors here, cookies, some other activities, probably some adoption specials going on that day, just a fun time to come out and maybe get away from the holiday hustle and bustle,” Murray said.
The Animal Shelter just recently started a paper recycling project. If you have any recyclables, Murray said you can to stop by the Animal Shelter anytime and drop them in the bin in the parking lot.
