Annual art showcase kicks off at Buckeye Lake

BUCKEYE LAKE, Ohio- Rain or shine, a local yacht club is using their efforts to support local artist and unify the community.
Saturday the Buckeye Lake Yacht Club hosted their 4th annual art show which showcased the work of local artist and helped benefit surrounding businesses
“When we started with the dam remediation project the Buckeye Lake Chamber of Commerce started this program to help the businesses out in the Buckeye Lake area just because business was down without boating and watering. It has really taken off. This is our 4th year participating with it. We have local artist who are selling their goods in here and we’re open to the public, we’re normally a private club,” said Rose Mcentire, Commodore, Buckeye Lake Yatch Club.
Mcentire said not only is there a lot of history Buckeye Lake but that this event is truly a wonderful thing for the community.
“It’s a wonderfully thing for the community, it really is. It introduces buckeye lake to our neighboring communities too. I’ve been talking with people from Pickerington, and Newark and then Heath and all over the area. It’s a great opportunity to showcase the lake. We love Buckeye Lake. There’s a lot of history here. The yacht club is 100 years old and so there’s a lot of history here at the lake and family and traditions, so we love that.”
