Annual Community Resource Day

Keeping everyone connected is the goal of one local group.

The Council of Community Resources held it’s Annual Community Resource Day this afternoon at the Zanesvile Muskingum County Welcome Center. It’s a day where local businesses and service agencies network with each other.

"We invite the local agencies and businesses that work with the population of people that may need certain services and this is a really good networking tool that we use to make sure that we’re up to date on what everyone else has amongst the agencies and maybe new information that they have to offer and share with everyone," Shirer said.

Shirer said they work together and share their information so everyone can help everyone else out.

"I do a lot of referrals where maybe someone will come up to me and say: where are your local pharmacies, who do I contact with Big Brothers Big Sisters, whats Pro-Muskingum? So it’s really nice to be informed with the other agencies. Plus we work so much together and we do a lot of these things together it’s really nice to know what the other agencies have to offer," Shirer said.

She said they have been doing this for eleven years and they see more and more faces each year. Shirer tell us everyone takes away a lot of good information back to their workplace that they may be able to use.
