Apply for summer cycle scholarships through the MCCF

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Graduations are happening all around us, but it’s not too early to think about scholarships to further your education.
The Muskingum County Community Foundation, or MCCF, has announced that applications are open for summer scholarships. Director of Programs and Scholarship Central Beth Fox explains that while the spring cycle was geared towards high school seniors, the summer cycle is for another group of students pursuing education.
“So the summer cycle is really designed for those college students. So it’s a little different of a demographic, but it’s for those currently in school,” Fox said. “Students who need some extra help in their sophomore, junior, and senior years, so a little different demographic, a little different focal point, but still very important for our community. ”
The scholarships available this cycle cover a wide variety of programs and student types. Some scholarships on offer can help current college students, graduate students, adult learners and those in trade schools.
“One I would like to highlight is our Cynthia McHenry Shull scholarship and this is actually a rolling scholarship. So there is no close date, but this is specifically designed for our trades,” Fox said. “So, for those students who are looking to get in the HVAC or welding or whatever it may be, there’s tools and there’s costs associated with that. And so, that scholarship is directly to intise those trade school students.”
You can visit the MCCF’s website to check out and apply for the scholarships available during the summer cycle. If you would like to contribute to a scholarship fund, you can call the MCCF to learn more.
